1980 → 2026 · Founder journey

The future does not arrive all at once. It is built, disruption after disruption.

For twenty years, I have joined organizations at the moment technology changes the rules: web, mobile, convergence, platforms, automation, AI. Every chapter tells the same story — a disruption, a decision, a system installed, a principle kept.

The common thread

I step in when the rules change, not when everything is fine.

Read the disruption before it becomes obvious. Rally a team around a clear decision. Turn that decision into a measurable result. The rest — titles, sectors, tools — is just the context of the era.

Disruption 01/09 · The one-way world

1980

Three channels, a corded phone, zero interactivity. Information arrives on schedule and is not up for discussion.

Origines · Starting point

Growing up in the last one-way world

I was born into a medium that speaks and never answers. It is the only chapter where I built nothing — but it is the baseline that makes everything after it legible. Ever since, my work has been to add a feedback channel where there was none.

Principle kept

A system without feedback is a system without learning.

Disruption 02/09 · The mainstream Web

1999

Dial-up gives way to broadband. Commerce, advertising and news move online faster than the business models can follow.

Formation · Studies — economics and society

Learning economics while the Web rewrites it

I studied economics at the exact moment the Web was redefining it. The bubble burst; the fundamentals held. I kept a reading method from it: separate the technology from the business model it makes possible.

Principle kept

A disruption only matters if it changes a profitable behaviour.

Disruption 03/09 · Web 2.0

2004 – 2009

Production becomes affordable; distribution does not. Content supply explodes without a funding model.

Entrepreneuriat · Production and operations

Producing, financing and running real businesses

Two businesses, two complementary lessons: audiovisual production taught me financing, risk and schedules; the restaurant business taught me operations, margin and staffing. Nothing replaces having signed the cheques yourself.

Principle kept

Strategy that ignores operations is just an opinion.

Disruption 04/09 · Mobile and social media

2009 – 2013

Attention leaves the living room. Live TV becomes participatory: the audience wants in during the show, not after.

Télévision · Editorial and digital concept

A live show where the audience writes what happens next

I designed a live interactive show and the web tool feeding it: audience input arrived in real time and changed what went to air. Technically modest, editorially decisive — the first time I made a digital product and a television production coincide.

Principle kept

Interactivity is not a feature: it is an editorial decision.

Disruption 05/09 · Convergence

2013 – 2016

Media groups merge print, TV, web and mobile. Internal silos cost more than the competition does.

Grand groupe média · Digital leadership

Leading digital when silos cost more than competitors

I carried digital responsibilities inside a large media group in full convergence. The real work was not technological: it was getting teams with opposing metrics to decide together. I learned to arbitrate between revenue, audience and production cost.

Principle kept

Aligning contradictory metrics is harder — and more profitable — than launching a platform.

Disruption 06/09 · Platforms and streaming

2016 – 2018

Subscription wins; discovery moves to social platforms. A media brand must exist beyond its broadcast schedule.

Groupe média spécialisé · Digital strategy and monetization

Turning channels into brand platforms

Rebuilding digital properties, content strategy and monetization. The stake: build an audience that exists independently of broadcast, and attach revenue to it that does not depend on linear advertising alone.

Principle kept

An owned audience is worth more than a rented one.

Disruption 07/09 · Transformation at scale

2018 – 2024

The pandemic forces digitization in weeks. Decentralized networks discover they share neither systems nor data.

Réseau coopératif · Marketing and transformation leadership

Moving a network that does not take orders

Positioning, digital rebuild, IT modernization, public funding and mobilization of a cooperative network. In a federation, authority is not exercised: it is earned. Transformation moves at the speed of buy-in, not at the speed of the plan.

Principle kept

In a network, a plan only has value if the members recognize themselves in it.

Disruption 08/09 · Customer journey and automation

2024 – 2025

CRM, automation and analytics become accessible to mid-size organizations. The advantage shifts from tools to execution.

Services éducatifs · Multi-division marketing leadership

Three divisions, one customer journey

I rebuilt the journey from first visit to re-enrolment: campaigns, CRM, automations and executive dashboards. Divisions stopped competing with each other and started handing off to each other. Marketing became a measurable system rather than a string of campaigns.

Principle kept

A well-built customer journey is the best internal alignment tool.

Disruption 09/09 · Applied AI

2026 →

Generative AI moves from demo to operations. The question is no longer "does it work" but "what do we stop doing by hand".

Medialys · Founder

Decide fast, prove early, industrialize after

Medialys works with leadership teams at the moment AI redefines their model. I do the same work as at every disruption: read the change, choose the ground, align the teams, deliver a verifiable result. Only the technology has changed its name.

Principle kept

What repeats is not the technology. It is the method.
